Light Curtains
Light curtains are optical sensing devices used in industrial automation systems to detect objects and ensure safety in hazardous areas. Comprising a transmitter and receiver, they create a protective field of infrared light beams, which, when interrupted, send a signal to the control system to initiate a safety response. Commonly used in robotic work cells, automated assembly lines, and material handling systems, light curtains offer faster response times, reduced wear and tear, and increased flexibility compared to traditional mechanical safety devices.
