The A244 drill from Dormer is a long series aircraft extension drill bit, manufactured to NAS907 standard.
It has a bright finish to stop workpiece material from sticking to the cutting edge and is made with a long overall length but a short flute length which makes it good for stable drilling in areas which might be hard to reach with a conventional drill.
The A243 comes with a short flute length but a long overall length which makes it good for stable drilling in areas which might be hard to reach with a conventional drill.
It comes with a 118 degree split point which means less force is needed to drill into the workpiece and helps to stop the point of the drill from sliding over the surface of the material (self-centering). Manufactured from premium High Speed steel, the A244 can be used to drill steels, aluminium and stainless steels and is suitable for drilling many other materials by hand, making it a most versatile tool
