Dixon Shanks or water fittings are a range of products designed to simplify secure connections with a water supply and distribution systems. They are available in a wide variety of shapes, sizes, and materials including brass, aluminum, galvanized and stainless steel as well as a range of plastic options. They are designed to be resistant to pressure, wear, and corrosion. The standard shanks come with a National Pipe Straight Mechanical (NPSM) threaded connection on one end and a protruding barb on the other to facilitate a push-on connection with a hose. The threaded end can have an internal NPSM threads for a female water shank or external threads for the male water shank.
