When you take a closer look at augur conveyors, some of the most notable components are the trough ends. These are plates used for supporting the
shaft seal, the bearing, and the screw. The name has an agricultural origin in that it resembles a pig trough. But in some cases, it is simply referred to as an end plate.
The trough end does a lot of work when the augur conveyor is moving. It firmly holds the bearing (shaft) that supports the screw. This means that a lot of force is created on the trough end. It is because of this that it is designed with heavy materials, usually heavier compared to those used to make other sections. If you increase the length of the screw, the force exerted on the trough end intensifies.
The main types of trough ends include the model without foot, model with foot, pedestal, bulkhead, and torque arm design. To see the full list of trough ends in our list, make sure to visit our site.
