A pallet jack is also called a pallet pump, pallet truck, pump truck or a jigger. It is a basic type of forklift tool that is used to lift and move
pallets. Pallet jacks are mostly used to lift and move pallets in warehouses. The several types of pallet jacks include manual pallet jack, powered pallet jacks and rough terrain pallet jacks. Manual jacks are operated by hand to lift, lower or steer pallets from one location to the next and are mostly used in the retail sector warehouses. Powered jacks use electric motors to lift and move and stack heavier pallets. They include trucks, single and double pallets, and walkies. Some are fitted with a user platform and a throttle handle for steering the pallet. In uneven grounds, rough terrain jacks with robust pneumatic tyres and heavy-duty frames are used to manoeuvre the terrain easily. They are built with different mechanisms such as wheel bearing, built-in pump or hydraulic elevator.
